Sacred Bones Records

American independent label based in Brooklyn, New York, in the neighborhood of Greenpoint and founded in 2007 by Caleb Braaten, has fifty artists in its catalog including Blanck Mass, Moon Duo, Vive La Void, Psychic Ills, Amen Dunes, Exploded View, Crystal Stilts, Föllakzoid, Marissa Nadler, Jenny Hval, Pharmakon, The Soft Moon, Holydrug Couple, Lust For Youth, The Men, John Carpenter and David Lynch (…). Although globally typified independent rock, the label’s productions are eclectic: folk, punk rock, psyche, noise rock, post-punk etc. Some of the label’s productions can be found in dark, industrial and sophisticated atmospheres, as well as a taste for experimental music.
Sacred Bones’ artwork is characterized by a strong visual identity based on a unique model. We first find on the top left the logo of the label representing a black triangle surrounded by a ouroboros. Opposite the logo is the name of the artist and the album, as well as the list of titles. An illustration occupies two-thirds of the bottom of the disc. The back of the sleeve for the most part, contains nothing but the logo of the label.
